Campus Enterprises Mission: NC State Dining provides campus wide food services to students, staff, and faculty on the North Carolina State University Campus. NC State Dining operates 11 cafes, 3 food courts and 6 dining halls, 3 markets, 2 restaurants, vending, a nutritional counseling service, and a catering department. The department employs approximately 1000 temporary and student employees and approximately 165 permanent EHRA and SHRA employees.
- Campus Enterprises is NC State University’s division of retail and hospitality organizations — NC State Dining, NC State Stores, Lonnie Poole Golf Course, NC State Student Centers (Witherspoon and Talley), and the One Card Office. Each department is dedicated to providing service excellence, value and enrichment of the student experience in support of academic success.
Purpose: Provide vital support to Campus Enterprises and NC State Dining by providing an excellent dining experience for all guests.
Compensation: Starting Wage for Student Line Cook In Training is $10.00/hr (Tier 1) and starting wage for Student Line Cook is $10.75/hr (Tier 2) with opportunity for raises based on years of service within Campus Enterprises.
Perks: Dining and Catering employees earn free meals and are eligible for an end-of-semester bonus
Location: 1887 Bistro in Talley Student Union
Work Schedule: **Specific Days/Hours**
- Sunday - Thursday: 2 Shifts per week minimum
- 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- 4:00 PM - 11:00 PM (tentatively)
- MUST have availability during at least 2 of these shifts

Essential functions and responsibilities: (including but not limited to):
- Under the direction of culinary staff, prepare made-to-order menu items in a high-volume food service environment.
- Prepare ingredients for recipes and produce food following detailed, standardized recipes.
- Read and follow both written and verbal instructions and recipes to efficiently assemble menu items and ensure food quality, appearance and taste.
- Maintain Grade A sanitation of 95% or better.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Current NC State University student with a flexible schedule

- Physically able to carry up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Willingness to handle and serve all types of food
- Prior culinary experience is welcome but not necessary – applicants with no previous cooking experience will be considered for Student Cook In Training (Tier 1) position
- Must attend mandatory student employee orientation and training sessions.
