Campus Enterprises Mission: Campus Enterprises is NC State’s division of retail and
hospitality organizations - NC State Dining, NC State Stores, Lonnie Poole Golf Course, NC State Student Centers (Witherspoon and Talley), and the One Card Office.  Each department is dedicated to providing service excellence, value, and enrichment of the student experience in support of academic success.

Dining and Catering employees earn free meals and are eligible for an end-of-semester bonus.

Purpose: The primary purpose of this position will be to promote Food Safety & Food Allergy protocols throughout NC State Dining.  Emphasis will be placed on educating students about food safety and increasing inclusion and awareness of food allergies on campus.  This role serves as a year-long (August 13, 2025 - May 9, 2026), 1-credit/semester internship experience offered by NC State Dining as part of NTR 492: Professional Internship Experience in Nutrition Science.

Compensation: $10.75 (Tier 2)

around campus

Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducts food safety, food waste, and food allergy audits for campus dining locations.
  • Works under the Director of Nutrition and Wellness to help educate about food safety & food allergy topics through various campaigns.
  • Assists with food safety and allergen awareness training for staff.
  • Assists with cooking demos, Teaching Kitchen events, and catered events.
  • Promotes NC State's Food Allergy Club: 'Safe Eats', through event planning and educational content creation.

  • Nutrition/Food Science major/minor preferred
