Smoothie U Specialist - Fall 2025
Campus Enterprises Mission: Campus Enterprises is NC State University’s division of retail and hospitality organizations — NC State Dining, NC State Stores, Lonnie Poole Golf Course, NC State Student Centers (Witherspoon and Talley), and the One Card Office. Each department is dedicated to providing service excellence, value and enrichment of the student experience in support of academic success.
Purpose: Provide vital support to Campus Enterprises and NC State Dining by providing an excellent dining experience for all guests.
Compensation: Students will start at a training level of tier 1 at $10.50 per hour. Once they have demonstrated sufficient skills they will be eligible to be promoted to a tier 2 position at $11 per hour.
In addition, students who are eligible will receive longevity raises based on years of service within Campus Enterprises. Dining and Catering employees earn free meals and are eligible for an end-of-semester bonus of up to $200.
Locations: Smoothie U at the Atrium Food Court.

Essential functions and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Follow standardized recipes to ensure food quality, appearance, and taste.
- Operate the micros system (point of sale) and accurately process transactions following university policy.
- Prepare ingredients and smoothies following food safety and sanitation standards.
- Restock and rotate products according to established guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment, counters, and work area.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
- Provide excellent customer service in a friendly, efficient manner.
- Assist in maintaining a Grade A sanitation rating of 95% or better.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and guests.
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
- Current NC State University student with a flexible schedule
- Willingness to handle and serve all types of food (including meat products)
- Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to read and follow both written and verbal instructions and recipes
- Ability to work with a team and effectively communicate
- Efficient cash handling and ability to count back correct change
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must attend mandatory student employee orientation and training sessions
